Intergenerational Justice Panel in Washington, D.C.
Former Center for Public Justice CEO Gideon Strauss participated in a panel discussion titled "I Hope I Die Before I Get Old: America's Long-Term Budget Crisis and 'The Call for Intergenerational Justice'" on April 20 in Washington, D.C. A video webcast will be available here.
The event is hosted by the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI).
Here is an idea that probably is not discussed too much on Capitol Hill: Evaluate fiscal reform in terms of the biblical principles of stewardship, prudence, and concern for the poor. That is what the leadership of Evangelicals for Social Action and the Center for Public Justice encouraged in an open letter to the Christian community. At this event, an intergenerational panel of prominent signatories joined with leaders who have criticized the letter to discuss and debate how Christians should think about government spending priorities.
