Webinar: Understanding Fulton v. City of Philadelphia
On June 17, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled in Fulton v. City of Philadelphia that it was unconstitutional for the City of Philadelphia to block Catholic Social Services from participating in its foster care system because they would not certify same-sex couples for religious reasons. The Fulton decision suggests that Americans who hold differing views on human sexuality and marriage can still work to serve others. The ruling is also of great significance for faith-based organizations, including organizations who provide all types of faith-based services.
In this webinar, CPJ CEO Stephanie Summers hosts Jedd Medefind, President of the Christian Alliance for Orphans, and Dr. Stanley Carlson-Thies, Senior Director and Founder of the Institutional Religious Freedom Alliance, for a conversation and Q&A session on the basics of the ruling and its implications for leaders, boards, and supporters of faith-based organizations.
This webinar was hosted a partnership between the Center for Public Justice and the Christian Alliance for Orphans.
