Economic Justice Project
During 2008 and 2009 the Center for Public Justice is directing a grant-funded educational/advocacy project titled Justice for a Free Market. Conducted by President James W. Skillen in cooperation with a team of Christian economists, professors, and labor experts, the project will outline and illustrate a series of principles for just economics aimed at those engaged in business, education, and political life. Results of the project will include:
- a small book (in process)
- a statement on economic justice for the Center's Guidelines series (in process)
- a booklet released in October 2008 titled "Toward Civic Justice & Economic Empowerment" (read online or download a PDF file below)
A group of consulting advisers, drawn from business and the academy, will participate in discussions and critique draft documents. This group includes:
Dr. Amy Sherman, Sagamore Institute for Policy Research
Dr. Brian Fikkert, Covenant College
Dr. Bruce Webb, Gordon College
Dr. Gideon Strauss, Work Research Foundation
Mr. Rudy Carrasco, Harambee Christian Family Center
Dr. Elwil Beukes, The King’s College
Mr. John Truschel, The Boston Company
The Center is grateful to the anonymous foundation that has made this work possible.
