Civitas Leadership Seminar
The Center for Public Justice offers a range of leadership development opportunities, including weekend events and a weeklong summer seminar on Christian faith, politics, and public policy. We invite participation from professionals, students, emerging leaders, those involved in public service, and anyone with an interest in government and public policy.
Summer Leadership Seminar 2008
“Christianity, Democracy, and the 2008 Elections”
July 6-12
Washington, D.C.
Join us on Capitol Hill for the Center’s 2008 Leadership Seminar—a one-week residential program on Christian faith and politics. The seminar begins Sunday evening, July 6, and ends at noon on Saturday, July 12.
Seminar participants engage in an intensive, stimulating course of study with two seminar sessions each day structured to encourage class discussion of lectures, readings, and the participants’ questions. Lecturers will include leading Christian academics, policy analysts, and political leaders.
A tuition fee of $500 covers program expenses and most meals. Housing for the week in a shared suite apartment is available onsite for an additional $200/person. Those with families (up to five people) who desire a separate apartment onsite will be charged $500 for the week. The seminar is held at the facilities of the American Studies Program of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, eight blocks from the U.S. Capitol Building.
If you would like to be part of a rigorous week of wrestling with a biblical perspective on governance and public policy, please submit an application form. Partial payment of $100 toward the tuition fee is due no later than April 30. The remainder of the tuition fee and any housing fee must be paid in full upon arrival at the seminar.
Program materials and readings will be mailed to registered participants six weeks in advance.
