Wearne's Annotated Bibliography of Skillen's Publications Now Available

Third Quarter 2007

Dr. Bruce Wearne, an occasional contributor to the Public Justice Report and a long-time correspondent for the Center for Public Justice in Australia, has recently completed the prodigious task of annotating the published writings of James Skillen, president of the Center for Public Justice.  The 150-page text, titled “Public Justice for All,” is available online at: Skillen Bibliography.

The posting of the bibliography was made possible through the generous support of Steve Bishop in the U.K. who hosts a rather massive blog with links to the writings of many Christian thinkers, bibliographies, and much more (go to: Steve Bishop Blog).

Wearne’s bibliography of Skillen’s writings covers a 40-year period beginning in 1967, includes 336 annotated entries, and begins with a thoughtful essay offering an overview of what he discovered in preparing the annotations. The bibliography does not include items Skillen wrote for the Center’s Public Justice Report, Capital Commentary, or Root & Branch.

The Center for Public Justice and Jim Skillen wish to express our deepest thanks to Dr. Wearne for all the time and effort he invested in this enterprise and for the wonderful fruits of his labors.

Wearne says near the end of his introduction, “In brief, then, we can say that these writings are about the task of government in the political community (the state) which is, at root, but one way in which we as the human race respond to God’s generation-to-generation rule over all of life. To repeat, politics is given to us so that we can look after our neighbors with justice.”
